VERDICT

Unfortunately, our initial conclusions proved to be right: there’s a good chance that the paper you receive from Papersowl won’t be good. We ordered one, and were disappointed with a number of important things, including the thesis statement, body paragraphs, and spelling.

Intro

The first we did after we landed on Papersowl home page is checking if it had the most essential features of a reliable essay writing service: 24/7 customer service, clear pricing, live chat, professional design, and a blog. While we were able to find most of these things (blog, customer service, and live chat), one thing that struck us the most was the weird form on the home page. Apparently, the company invites the visitors to select a type of an essay, insert the email address, and click “Get My Essay Done.” What happens after that? Well, this is rather unfriendly to users, and it seems like the company is trying too hard to get more emails from the visitors and send them promotions. Well, let’s see what they have to offer.

Pricing and Discounts

We found no description of prices on the home page, which we don’t have a problem with. However, we failed to locate a clear way to price information (something like Our Prices menu tab). To know how much Papersowl charge for essays, we had to click on a CTA called Order and proceed to place an order. Not exactly a user-friendly decision.

What was even more surprising is that we didn’t find anything about prices after clicking on Order. Instead, we landed on a page that had a form that required us to provide information such as essay type and deadline. And only when he gave them that, we discovered that Papersowl had a bidding system, so their writers placed bids on our order. Again, not exactly a user-friendly UI on their part because this should be clearly indicated on the home page.

When we placed an order for a 4-page essay on literature, we’ve received 5 bids within 15 minutes (waiting was another issue that customers at Papersowl should experience). The lowest bid from a writer with a long ID who wasn’t in the Platinum or other premium categories, and it was $60.00, which meant that he or she charged $20.00 per page (this is a bit lower than industry average for a college-level paper, which is often a red flag, according to our experience). Well, we decided to give this writer a try.

Paper Quality

The writer delivered the paper within the deadline we wanted, which was good. However, by the end of the introduction, we realized why the price was low. The thesis was weak and generic, and the writer obviously didn’t understood the main points of the story, Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Needless to say that the writer wasn’t a native English speaker. The subsequent paragraphs supported this. In addition to two spelling mistakes, we discovered that the body paragraphs weren’t really connected to the thesis, so the entire paper was essentially a bunch of random ideas put together. In our opinion, the paper deserved a C.

The range of services provided by Papersowl included: essay writing, research paper writing, dissertation writing, term paper writing, and editing. We also asked the customer support whether they did copywriting (this is a trend among essay writing services), but received this: “This is a paid writing service, we can do the paper/essay from scratch, rewrite it or edit.” So no copywriting.
